Volunteer-Application

Individuals: To insure that all volunteers are oriented to our mission and safety operations, all on-site volunteers must complete a volunteer application and go through volunteer training. Contact us for more information on our current volunteer needs or download an application below.

Groups: Our facility is large enough to welcome groups of volunteers, but we also encourage your support in other ways:

  • Organize a food drive: Our shelves are always in need of non-perishables. See our wish list for specific needs.
Contact us at 874-0379 or by email FoodCupboard@maine.rr.com  to arrange drop off of collected items.
  • Organize a fundraiser: Monetary donations are always needed to help keep the pantry well stocked. We spend over $2000 per week to restock our staples and to ensure that everyone goes home with nutritious meals that include milk, meat, eggs, juice and fresh vegetables. A fundraiser could be as big as a marathon or as simple as a collection box. One local business supports us each month by sponsoring a “jeans day” where employees pay a fee to wear jeans to work. We love their creativity!

Help us with a special project: Special projects are a great opportunity for scout troops. Contact us to discuss our current needs.  FoodCupboard@maine.rr.com.

Our Motto for our Volunteers is, “Come when you can; leave when you need.”

Week at a Glance

We are grateful for your interest. Volunteers are the backbone of our efforts and are trusted to handle a variety of tasks. We always look for people who are dependable, kind, cheerful, flexible about job assignments, early risers, physically-strong (to a certain degree) and willing to work with us to serve our diverse clients who are dealing with food insecurities.   A personal interview is a part of this process, and training is provided.
